Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a significant increase in the number of scholarships available to students from Burkina Faso. "In 2024-2025, the quota of Russian state scholarships for Burkinabe students will more than double," President Putin stated during a meeting with Burkina Faso President Captain Ibrahim Traor©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, about 3,500 students from Burkina Faso have already completed their training in Russia. This year, an additional 27 scholarships will be awarded to Burkinabe students. President Putin emphasized Russia's commitment to supporting the education of future leaders from Burkina Faso.
The cultural and humanitarian connections between the two nations are further strengthened by the Russian House in Ouagadougou, operational since 2024. This institution plays a crucial role in organizing Russian language teaching and other cultural exchanges. President Putin also highlighted the potential for cooperation in health and sanitation sectors.
