Saaba 2 CEB Focuses on Sport and Culture to Enhance Social Cohesion

Kadiogo: Education stakeholders in the Saaba 2 Basic Education District (CEB) concluded their annual sports and cultural activities on Saturday. These activities, organized to promote social cohesion and community spirit within the school environment, culminated in the final of the football tournament, which was won on penalties by the Gampela CEFP against the Attakwa school (4-3). 'Through sport and culture, our children learn respect for rules, team spirit, self-improvement, solidarity and acceptance of difference. These values ??form the foundations of a peaceful and harmonious society,' said the Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Saaba 2, Ousmane Danen.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this edition brought together many schools around sporting competitions and cultural activities aimed at instilling in students the values ??of solidarity, tolerance and mutual respect. The head of the constituency also took the opportunity to commend the commitment of the various stakeholders who contributed to the organization of the event, with support estimated at over 400,000 FCFA.

Mr. Danen also expressed his satisfaction with the performance achieved in the Primary School Certificate (CEP) examination, 2026 session, where the district recorded a success rate of 97.59%. He congratulated all those involved in education for this result. Held under the theme "Sport and culture in primary school, levers of reconciliation and social cohesion", the ceremony brought together administrative, educational and customary authorities, as well as many students.

The President of the special delegation of the commune of Saaba, represented, invited the students to take ownership of the theme of this edition in order to contribute to the consolidation of social cohesion and the promotion of national values ??while reaffirming the commune's support for educational initiatives. He encouraged all education stakeholders to continue promoting excellence so that our schools produce responsible citizens who are useful to the nation,' he said.

The ceremony's patron, Professor Louis-Martial Zongo, explained that he accepted this role because of his commitment to the education system. "There is no university without preschool and primary education. These children represent the future of our country. It was therefore natural for me to support this initiative," he stated. He urged the students to make hard work and perseverance the keys to their success. "There are no shortcuts to success. Everything is possible for those who work hard," he advised.

The ceremony was punctuated by the presentation of awards to participants and by the final of the football tournament organized as part of this edition. Created in 2003, the Saaba 2 Basic Education District now has 96 schools, including 13 public institutions.
