Sabou: The Sabou health district has officially opened a new maternity ward at the commune's medical center, an initiative realized through a partnership involving the special delegation of Sabou, the Organization for Humanitarian Relief (OSH), and the Foundation for Human Rights, Freedoms and Humanitarian Aid (IHH).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the inauguration ceremony took place under the patronage of Mr. Adama Jean Yves Bere, Governor of the Nando region, and was chaired by Mr. Abdul Aziz Koara, President of the Special Delegation of Sabou. The event was also blessed by His Majesty Naaba Yemde II, Chief of the canton of Sabou.

During the ceremony, Governor Bere highlighted the initiative's alignment with the national authorities' vision for local development. He noted the importance of mobilizing local resources and forming partnerships to meet the needs of the population efficiently. The partnership with OSH and IHH has enabled the Sabou medical center to be equipped with modern infrastructure, improving reception capacities and providing a better working environment for healthcare staff.

Mr. Koara expressed pride in the project's completion, emphasizing that the municipality now boasts a modern and well-equipped maternity ward, complete with an autonomous water station, to address the population's crucial needs.

Mr. Yacouba Sawadogo, Secretary General of OSH, extended gratitude to Turkish and local partners, emphasizing the vulnerability of women in facing health challenges. He remarked on the significance of maternity wards as the starting point of human life, which motivated the construction of this facility for Sabou.

The new maternity ward enhances the Sabou medical center's capacity in maternal and child health, contributing to better access to care for the commune and surrounding areas. The event saw attendance from several notable figures, including sponsors and various administrative, customary, and religious authorities, as well as community members.
