Sahab Kouanda’s Exhibition ‘Council of Ministers’ Honors Burkinabe Government

Burkina faso: Through an exhibition entitled 'Council of Ministers', presented Monday at the National Museum, the visual artist Sahab Kouanda paid tribute to the Burkinabe government, affirming his desire to commend its action and express his gratitude to all the actors committed to the development of Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the exhibition is made from recycled materials, including iron, and presents the government in a state of deliberation. It took the artist several months to complete this project.

For the artist Sahab Kouanda, it was impossible to visit each ministry to congratulate each minister individually for their sacrifices. He therefore chose another way to pay tribute to them, which led to this creation.

He confided that this exhibition is just one step and that he intends to surprise the Burkinab¨ public with other projects currently underway. He also invited the public to come and discover his works. Finally, he thanked all the benefactors who contributed to the realization of this exhibition.

Placed under the chairmanship of the Minister in charge of Culture, his representative, Alassane Waongo, indicated that the National Museum is a living space and a space for dialogue where art invites reflection on the future of the nation.

It is in this context that the artist presented today "The Council of Ministers," a government decision-making body, to which he wished to pay tribute through his works. This initiative is a welcome act and aligns with the museum's vision, he added.

The Director General of the National Museum, Sabari Christian Dao, stressed that the museum, through Sahab Kouanda, reminds us of the urgency and necessity of talking to each other in order to understand in depth the causes of our problems, to better communicate and generally control "the crises that surround us."

He added that with this visual artist, all is not yet lost, since everything starts with recycling, which allows him to breathe new life "into our environment through his commitment."

Mr. Dao indicated that the necessary measures are already in place to ensure the preservation of the works according to their nature. He took the opportunity to remind all Burkinabe that the National Museum remains open to any proposal for promoting cultural heritage within the community.
