Sanguie: The Place de la Nation in Reo was the venue for the finale of the patriotic tour act 1 by Burkinabe artist Kevio's, aimed at promoting patriotism and supporting the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, Police Sergeant Romaric Kevin Bado, known on stage as Kevio's, initiated this tour as a response to the perceived indifference towards the families of the fallen FDS and VDP. He emphasized that supporting these families is an act of justice, not merely generosity.
The event was chaired by Ms. Talari Germaine Ouoba, High Commissioner of the Sanguie province, with Mr. Abdoulaye Bassinga, Governor of the Kadiogo region, serving as patron. The event gathered administrative authorities, defense and security forces, and the general public, including Ms. Natacha Maryel Sawadogo/Zoungrana, divisional police commissioner, who expressed her support for the initiative.
Mr. Florent Pema Neya, representing the Presidency of Burkina Faso to the Nando region, commended Kevio's for his courage in visiting all ten communes of the province. He encouraged continued local support for the widows and orphans of fallen soldiers. The High Commissioner highlighted the importance of the project as a complement to government efforts, urging continuous solidarity.
The Governor of Kadiogo congratulated Kevio's and emphasized collective responsibility, urging stronger collaboration between the public and security forces. Throughout the tour, donations were collected across several communes, with significant contributions from Zawara and Pouni.
