Sanguie: The High Commissioner of the Sanguie province, Talari Germaine Ouoba, presided on Monday over the traditional New Year's greetings ceremony between the constituted bodies, the first official of the province noted AIB. This meeting, marked by a renewed commitment from the province's driving forces, served as a framework to take stock of the past year and set development prospects for 2026.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was held under the banner of cohesion and strengthening of administrative collaboration. It brought together at the residence of the High Commissioner, the Secretary General of the province, the prefects/presidents of special delegations, the military, customary, religious authorities, as well as the directors and heads of service.
Speaking on behalf of civil society, the provincial director of women and solidarity for Sanguie, Ms. Fatimata Cherif Zongo/Ouedraogo, conveyed the gratitude of the various constituted bodies to the provincial authorities. In a solemn address, she praised the High Commissioner's "leadership" and "strong sense of duty," whose dedication had strengthened administrative cohesion for the benefit of the population.
'It is with a feeling of deep respect that we extend to you our wishes for health, success, and peace,' said Ms. Zongo. She reaffirmed the total commitment and 'institutional loyalty' of the decentralized services to support the actions of the State with discipline and respect for the values of public service, despite the security and social challenges encountered in 2025.
In response, Ms. Talari Germaine Ouoba expressed her gratitude for this mobilization, seeing it as a sign of "perfect and fruitful collaboration." While extending wishes for prosperity to her colleagues, she paid a heartfelt tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their sacrifice in protecting the province.
Looking to the future, the High Commissioner invited provincial stakeholders to make 2026 a year of responsibility and innovation. She emphasized the importance of rigorous management of public resources and called for increased support for youth and women's entrepreneurship.
One of the highlights of her address was the call to support presidential initiatives, particularly those promoting food self-sufficiency and education. The High Commissioner officially announced the upcoming launch of the "Faso-Mªbo" initiative in Reo, inviting the sons and daughters of the province, both residents and members of the diaspora, to actively participate in building the province's infrastructure.
During the ceremony, the 18 recipients who were decorated on the occasion of December 11, 2025, were congratulated. Three officials were elevated to the rank of the Order of the Stallion, while others received the Burkinab¨ Order of Merit or the Medal of Honor for Local Authorities. According to the authorities, these decorations aim to encourage excellence and dedication to local development.
It was in a festive and fraternal atmosphere that the participants parted, reiterating the rallying cry: "Homeland or death, we will win!", united behind the ambition of a resilient and prosperous Sanguie.
