The association of women in the mining sector of Burkina Faso (AFEMIB) organized, from July 3 to 5, 2024, a training session in entrepreneurship and financial education for the benefit of 50 participants from the commune of Korsimoro.Over three days, the 50 participants from two cooperative groups were equipped on themes related to entrepreneurship and financial education, according to the consultant-trainer, Abdoul Fataou Kaboré.'During this conclave, a lot of knowledge was produced for the participants, including how to have a business idea, how to test the realism of your business idea and how to even manage a business,' he said. added.In financial education, continued the trainer Kaboré, the discussions also focused on the notions of budget, savings, and credit. It came down to how to even be able to budget and save.How to sell your products, build customer loyalty, do accounting and plan the inflow and outflow of money were also sub-themes discussed with the participants.According to the organi zers, the objective of this training is to allow participants to be able to reap the benefits of their various activities (gold panning, agriculture and livestock) and to reinvest the gains or income in other sectors of activity.At the end of this training, the consultant-trainer said he was satisfied with the objectives achieved. 'The participants spared no effort during these three days. Participation was there. There were really practical cases, sharing of experience and quite a few questions as well as their experiences in their different companies. I am really delighted with the participation,' rejoiced Abdoul Fataou Kaboré.Once back, the trainer expects the participants to capitalize on the learning from the training and put the acquired knowledge into practice. 'Really that the skills acquired during this training could allow them to revolutionize their various activities,' he hoped.An initiative praised for its true value by the beneficiaries. Fatimata Ouédraogo, a national of Yimiougou, is a go ld miner. For her, this training allowed them to learn strategies to set up a profitable business for the happiness of the family.Robert Sawadogo, a gold miner by profession, is also from the same village. 'We learned how to build a business and especially how to plan your budget. We also learned about strategies for sustainable business operation. Knowledge that will prosper our activities,' he rejoiced.Nopoko Zabré is originally from Zoaga. She is a farmer and breeder. According to him, the training allowed him to know that any activity to be undertaken requires good reflection for better planning of actions in terms of choice of activity, location and the required budget.Same story for Abdoulaye Tiraogo, national of Nababoulli, district of sector 1 of Korsimoro. He says he is learning new knowledge in the fields of agriculture, livestock and gold panning. As a result, the speakers addressed complaints against AFEMIB, namely the provision of gold research and extraction equipment and agropastoral inpu ts and the perpetuation of this type of training accompanied by monitoring in their activities for advisory support.This training was made possible thanks to the financial support of the project to strengthen the capacities of 500 women and young people on ten mining sites on income-generating activities and their grouping into a cooperative.Source: Burkina Information Agency
