School Youth Engage in Sports and Culture with OSCEP 2025-2026 in Iolonioro

Bougouriba: The Iolonioro Basic Education District (CEB) officially launched the 2025-2026 sports and cultural activities of the Primary School Sports and Culture Organization (OSCEP) at W¨rink¨ra school, 25 kilometers from Iolonioro. This event was presided over by Acting Secretary General of the Iolonioro Town Hall, Naba Sou, with the head of the CEB, Babon Basile Bitiono, and other distinguished guests in attendance.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the theme for this edition, "Sport and Culture in Primary Schools for an Engaged and Patriotic Youth," focuses on fostering civic spirit, social cohesion, and student development through sports and national culture appreciation. The Acting Secretary General praised the dedication of educational stakeholders and urged support for the initiative's success.

Babon Basile Bitiono highlighted the educational importance of sport and culture in children's development. He encouraged fair play, discipline, and cohesion among competing schools. The edition is sponsored by Abdoul Dramane Ou©draogo, CEO of Tenga Wend© Ou©draogo institution, who expressed gratitude for his selection and reiterated his support for the activities.

The program includes men's football, athletics such as the long jump and 60-meter sprint for both boys and girls, and cultural activities including drawing, traditional dance, and a recital. The opening football match saw Koursera school defeat Poyo school with a one-nil victory.

The OSCEP 2025-2026 season activities are set to conclude in April 2026, with expectations of nurturing young talents who embody peace, patriotism, and unity.
