Sebba: The provincial office of citizen watch and the population of Sebba offered an envelope of 853,000 CFA francs to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), welcoming their efforts in securing the area. The provincial office of citizen oversight, with the support of the residents of Sebba, presented 853,000 CFA francs to the security forces and volunteers operating in the area. The ceremony took place on February 28, 2026, in the town hall meeting room, in the presence of municipal authorities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the group behind this initiative invited the head of the detachment to proceed with the official handover, a gesture presented as a contribution intended primarily for the purchase of fuel to facilitate field operations.
Representatives of the citizen watch group stated that this financial mobilization stems from the "remarkable efforts" made by the fighters. They explain that, despite the modest sum, it reflects the sincere gratitude of the entire community.
For them, the mobility of the units involved remains essential, and this symbolic support aims to further encourage actions taken to secure the city and its surroundings, in a context where operational needs are significant.
Present at the ceremony, Bako Bali, second vice-president of the special delegation, commended the commitment of the local forces. He noted that the population "observes, analyzes, and draws conclusions," emphasizing that this initiative illustrates the trust and hope placed in those working for the stability of the province and Burkina Faso. He concluded by encouraging the security forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) to redouble their efforts for the complete liberation of the area.
