Koudougou:The governorate of Koudougou hosted the official launch ceremony of the second phase of the third edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC). The event, presided over by Adama Jean Yves Br, governor of the Nando region, featured a traditional raising of the national colors and the singing of the national anthem, the Ditany.
According to Burkina Information Agency, a significant moment of the ceremony was the delivery of a message from the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor. The message emphasized the theme "Let's produce Burkinab, let's consume Burkinab!" with the slogan "All for Made in Burkina: Let's make every purchase an act of sovereignty."
The President of Burkina Faso highlighted the importance of producing, processing, and consuming local goods as vital to building a dignified and independent nation. He identified challenges such as insufficient control of water resources, lack of local processing units for raw materials like cotton and shea butter, and resistance to local consumption. The Head of State called for commitment from all stakeholders, particularly women, agricultural producers, artisans, and traders, to strengthen the national brand and combat fraud, smuggling, and boycotts.
The ceremony also recognized the achievements of the region's youth, presenting awards to regional winners of national competitions and academic excellence days, showcasing their dedication to Burkina Faso's development.
Held as part of the JEPPC, established by a presidential decree, this ceremony initiates a program of activities aimed at rekindling patriotic fervor from October 2nd to 16th, 2026. The program includes public conferences on civic responsibility, solidarity actions such as fundraising and blood donations, and awareness campaigns targeting economic actors, rural populations, and prison staff to promote national preference in everyday life. These activities will take place across the provinces of Sissili, Ziro, Boulkiemd, and Sangui.
