Secretary General Encourages Tourism During Burkina Faso Heritage Month

Banfora: The Secretary General of the Cascades region, Meda Toussaint, representing the governor, officially launched the activities of Burkinabe Heritage Month this Friday, April 18, 2025, with a raising of the national colors in the governorate of Banfora.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Cascades region, like other regions of Burkina Faso, marked the start of the third edition of Burkinabe Heritage Month with a solemn raising of the colors in Banfora. The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, Head of State, conveyed a message through the Secretary General, announcing the activities planned for the month.

Under the theme "Cultural Heritage and Economic Development," President Traor© emphasized the significance of the event, which was established in 2023. The celebration, spanning from April 18 to May 18, 2025, aims to honor and perpetuate Burkina Faso's cultural heritage. The President urged citizens to engage actively during the month, encouraging visits to historical sites and the promotion of cultural values.

In the Cascades region, various activities are scheduled, including tourist visits, cultural evenings, radio broadcasts, and public conferences. The Secretary General expressed appreciation for the population's participation and urged them to explore and promote the region's tourist attractions.
