Hanoi: The Relwend association of young people and women for culture in Burkina Faso mobilized, on Tuesday, about a hundred neem seedlings for the benefit of departmental services and the people of Barsalogho, as part of an initiative aimed at promoting useful planting and strengthening community mobilization in favor of the environment.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation, conducted in the presence of municipal authorities and several heads of departmental services, consisted first of a symbolic planting within the grounds of the town hall before a distribution to the participants and the various departmental services, for planting in appropriate spaces.
The head of the environmental zone provided guidance on planting techniques and carried out a practical demonstration, inviting the beneficiaries to ensure regular monitoring of the plants in order to promote their survival.
For the president of the donating association, Adama Oudraogo, "The objective is to mobilize stakeholders around a common action and to ensure that each plant can be useful and contribute sustainably to our environment," he explained.
According to the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Barsalogho, Sansan Mathias Pal, this initiative constitutes a "beneficial act", because it combines environmental protection and community mobilization. He encouraged the beneficiaries to plant and maintain the plants received, believing that this type of action contributes to improving the living environment and strengthening cohesion between the different components of the population.
