Servants of the People Day Inaugurated in Solenzo

Solenzo: The Governor of the Bankui and Sourou regions, Babo Pierre Bassinga, officially launched the day of the servants of the people of Banwa on the grounds of the Solenzo A. school. This event, celebrated under the theme "serving with patriotism and responsibility for a refounded administration in service of the people of Banwa," marked its first edition from April 10 to 11, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Bassinga, in his opening address, urged all servants of the people to adopt exemplary behavior and become model servants in their service to the community. He emphasized the importance of treating citizens with respect and dedication, drawing a parallel to a restaurant owner who must treat customers like royalty to ensure their return and maintain a good reputation.

Lieutenant-Colonel Sosth¨ne Idrissa Coulibaly, the sponsor of this inaugural edition and Commander of the 5th Military Region, praised High Commissioner Sanfienale Joseph Sirima for the initiative. He highlighted its alignment with the national goal of transforming public service quality as part of the State's refounding and sovereignty restoration efforts. Coulibaly stressed the need for public administration to enhance performance and responsiveness to meet citizens' expectations.

Sanfienale Joseph Sirima, chair of the organizing committee, remarked that an effective administration is one that remains close to its people. The event drew thousands, entertained by artists such as Awa Nadia, Bakary Dembele, and Roi Tapha. The proceedings concluded with donations of onions and tomatoes to the FDS, a monetary gift of 600,000f to the VDP, and a visit to exhibition stands.

A community meal was shared among attendees, fostering a sense of unity. Prior to the ceremony, Governor Bassinga participated in a flag-raising event alongside Banwa's constituted bodies, servants, students, and residents, and visited the FDS and VDP to offer support and encouragement.
