Singer Mariam S©gu©da Releases Debut Album ‘Tal Yaam’ in Tenkodogo

Tenkodogo: Singer Mariam S©gu©da, a native of Dourtenga, marked a significant milestone in her musical journey by releasing her first album, 'Tal Yaam', on Saturday at the Wendkuni Dancing Bar in Tenkodogo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the album, comprising seven tracks, showcases S©gu©da's lifelong passion for traditional music. The tracks, namely Dounia rapa wan, Rogmick ramilye, Zoite taar yinbanlgue, Sotasse taar nongue, ZAMKONDEG TENGA, Yack bague toum touma, and Zaman lebgue yecbo, are performed in Yaana and blend traditional and modern musical styles. The album explores themes like solidarity, social cohesion, child education, tribute to the fighting forces, and cultural promotion.

Mariam S©gu©da, who has been involved in music for forty years, uses this album to narrate the story of the Koulpelgo region. She aims to foster social cohesion and peace through her music, urging the people of Koulpelgo to embrace the album for unity and harmony.

The album's dedication ceremony was graced by Hamidou Koudougou, an economic operator from Ouagadougou, known as Yaana Koudougou, who supported the event. He expressed his honor in being the patron and reiterated his commitment to promoting Yaana culture by supporting S©gu©da's artistic endeavors.

Harouna Koudougou, promoter of the 72 Hours of Yaana Culture Festival, highlighted S©gu©da's longstanding influence in the Koulpelgo community. Despite her extensive musical career, this album is her first, leading to a call for support to complete promotional activities, including video production and digital distribution.

Mariam S©gu©da is seeking media and public support to promote her album, which is available for purchase in USB format. She also announced plans for an upcoming concert to further showcase her work.
