Activities of the NGO Hellen Keller International presented to membersLeo, (AIB)- The statutory members of the Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP) met for their second ordinary session of the year 2024, on Thursday, September 12 in Leo, under the chairmanship of the High Commissioner of the Sissili province, Tewindé Isaac Sia. The activities of the NGO Hellen Keller International were explained to the members of the framework .The activities of the NGO Hellen Keller International (HKI) were presented to the statutory members of the Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP), during their second ordinary session of 2024, held on Thursday, September 12 in Léo.During the work, the participants were informed through a communication on its project "pathway towards the empowerment and resilience of women" called RESIFA project made by the field coordinator of said project, Albert Kiemdé.According to coordinator Kiemdé, the project in the province is funded by Helmsley Charitable Trust to the tune of 5 mil lion US dollars, or nearly 3 billion FCFA, and implemented by Hellen Keller International.He said the project will last three years, from February 2022 to January 2025.In his opinion, the RESIFA project follows the 'Project for the promotion of improved food agriculture and orange-fleshed sweet potato' called PAV-PDCO/Yazurawadiou which was implemented from March 2019 to February 2022."The objective sought through the implementation of the RESIFA project is to sustainably improve economic opportunities and the resilience of women for better food and nutritional security in the province of Sissili," he said.According to him, the project is being implemented in 100 villages in seven communes of the Sissili province in the Centre-West region.'The implementation is done through three components, namely; an agro-pastoral component, a nutrition component and a women's empowerment component,' said Albert Kiemdé.The situation of forest resources in the province of Sissili, that of road infrastructure, cul tural heritage and a communication on monkeypox disease were also the subject of presentations followed by discussions.On the occasion, the High Commissioner of the province of Sissili, Tewindé Isaac Sia welcomed the full participation of the statutory members of the framework in the discussions.Mr. Sia thanked the NGO Hellen Keller International whose financial support made this meeting possible.Source: Burkina Information Agency
