Ouagadougou: Sixty-five donors were recognized in Ouagadougou for their contributions to the Presidential Initiative for Community Development (PICD) during the 4th edition of the official recognition ceremony organized by the Ouagadougou municipality and the PICD. The event celebrated the donors' efforts in constructing community infrastructure across the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Maurice Konate, president of the special delegation of the municipality of Ouagadougou, chaired the ceremony and highlighted the diverse ways in which recipients contributed. Their involvement ranged from building roads and installing streetlights to rehabilitating latrines and other essential infrastructure, all reflecting the spirit of solidarity encouraged by national leaders.

Konate emphasized the municipality's responsibility to publicly acknowledge these citizens' contributions and inspire other Burkinabe citizens to emulate their efforts. He noted that this public recognition was crucial in fostering a culture of shared responsibility and community involvement.

Patrick Gampene, the special envoy to the Presidency of Faso, underscored that the PICD is a call for commitment and patriotism, initiated by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore. He mentioned that the initiative encourages citizens to play an active role in national development and revealed that over 174 contributors have been identified, with many more working quietly in the background.

In response to the recognition, Roger Nikiema, speaking on behalf of the recipients, expressed gratitude and motivation to continue contributing to national progress. He stressed the importance of building the nation for current and future generations and reaffirmed the recipients' dedication to advancing Burkina Faso's development goals.
