S©no Province Completes First Phase of Civic Education for Over 3,000 Students

S©no: The High Commissioner of the S©no province, Yaya Kon©, presided over the closing ceremony of the first phase of civic and patriotic training for 3,085 students from intermediate classes, including 1,535 girls, from five schools in the province, in Dori.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training of S©no, Damien Tiendr©b©ogo, stated that the initiative aims to shape "a new Burkinab¨ who is upright, disciplined, patriotic and civic-minded, capable of driving the emergence of a prosperous and sovereign state." He noted that this first phase began on January 15, 2026, as part of a national effort to strengthen civic and citizenship values in schools.

The training program was conducted in five schools within the S©no province, including the provincial high school of Dori, the municipal high school of Dori, the Dr Salifou Diallo municipal high school, the Wendou high school, and the CEG of Falagountou. A total of 3,085 students from intermediate classes participated in the training, with 1,550 boys and 1,535 girls taking part, demonstrating strong mobilization from educational stakeholders.

Mr. Tiendr©b©ogo expressed gratitude to various contributors including administrative authorities, health workers, school officials, civilian supervisors, and the Defense and Security Forces, along with the parents and school council offices, for their role in the program's success. He acknowledged the collective commitment that facilitated the smooth conduct of activities across all sites.

In his address to the students, the High Commissioner emphasized that patriotism is not merely symbolic but a continuous discipline. He encouraged students to apply their knowledge diligently, respect their teachers and facilitators, and protect their educational environment.

Students expressed their commitment to applying the knowledge gained from the training. This first phase of civic and patriotic education marks a significant step towards promoting civic values in secondary schools throughout the S©no province.
