The Socom Burkina Group donated school kits this Wednesday to the Burkina Faso Agency for the Support of Widows and Orphans Victims of War, intended for 50 primary schools, or about 15,000 students. This gesture aims to support the schooling of children of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) who have fallen in the theaters of operations.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation consists of 103 boxes of 200-page notebooks, 334 boxes of 100-page notebooks, and 100 boxes of 50-page notebooks. The CEO of the Socom Burkina Group, El Hadj Boukare Ouedraogo, stated that this action is part of the company's social responsibility. "The foundation of a human being is education. Once this is acquired, one has already earned a living. That is why we are committed to a better future for children," he said, while inviting other companies to follow suit.
Colonel Lamine Ouedraogo, Director General of the Agency for Support to Widows and Orphans Victims of War, welcomed the initiative, which he described as "a symbol of living and active solidarity." "This donation will allow us to fulfill our mission, which is to serve, to ensure the well-being and development of widows, orphans, and war wounded," he stated.
The gesture of the Socom Burkina Group thus reinforces the efforts of the State and its partners in favor of inclusive and resilient education, for the benefit of the children of those who have sacrificed their lives for the nation.
