Solenzo: Christian faithful of the Assemblies of God Church gathered on Sunday, April 5, 2026, in Solenzo to pray for peace in Burkina Faso, with the participation of administrative, customary, and Muslim authorities. Pastor Issiaka Kindo emphasized the importance of Easter as a time for purification and strengthening the relationship with God. He urged the community to practice religious tolerance while reflecting on the final hours of Jesus before his death.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the El Bethel church in Solenzo was filled with songs, praises, adoration, and prayers, marking the Easter celebration. Children participated in the event through songs and prayers. Pastor Kindo requested prayers for the President of Faso, government members, the Defense and Security Forces, the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, local authorities, and the people of Burkina Faso and other countries in the AES.
Abdoul Kader Kong Zabre, Secretary General of the Banwa province, highlighted the peaceful coexistence of all religious groups in Solenzo. He urged young people to avoid messages of hatred and division, especially through blasphemy and slander against sister religions. 'We are a secular country and everyone has the right to follow the religion that suits them. Today, we are here to support Christians and wish them a happy holiday, because here in Solenzo, all religious groups come together peacefully,' he stated.
Traditional leaders and representatives of the Muslim community joined the Secretary General of Banwa Province, along with some directors and department heads, at the Assemblies of God Church to celebrate Easter with Christian worshippers. Yacouba Ye, president of the FAIB of the Banwa province, extended holiday wishes to all Christians and called for the elimination of religious extremism, which he views as a barrier to social cohesion and unity.
