Solenzo Village Mobilizes for Construction of Hospitalization Rooms and Road Maintenance

Solenzo: The inhabitants of the village of Ban mobilized, this Sunday, August 31, 2025, through their civic watch, to launch the construction of four hospitalization rooms and the maintenance of the road leading to Bèna. Located 20 km from Solenzo, the village of Ban initiated, through a strong mobilization, the operation called "Ban Mebo," inspired by the presidential initiative "Faso Mebo."According to Burkina Information Agency, since August 15, the villagers, as part of this citizen watch, have been engaged in the repair of 5 km of roads. Tricycles transport earth and stones to fill potholes, while other villagers dig gutters to facilitate the evacuation of rainwater.Abdoul Wahab Sore, the spokesperson for the citizen watch, stated that Friday and Sunday are now dedicated to community service. "This Sunday, we began making bricks for the construction of four hospital wards for the CSPS, the cost of which is estimated at more than 4 million CFA francs. We also built a roundabout, which is not yet open, at 300,000 CFA francs. In addition to the maintenance of the roads you see, we are planning to build a CEG for the village," he explained.To support these actions, a voluntary contribution in kind and cash has been established. "Apart from the work in Ban Mebo, we have carried out spraying and sanitation operations, particularly in public places. We are also implementing a project to provide each VDP with a new motorcycle and acquire a ploughing tractor for the village by the end of the year," added Mr. Sore.
