Sons and Daughters of Boulkiemde Contribute Over 11 Million FCFA to ‘Faso Mebo’ Initiative

Koudougou: The organizing committee of the provincial conference of active forces of Boulkiemde officially handed over on Saturday, March 14 in Koudougou, a first tranche of contributions amounting to more than 11 million CFA francs, accompanied by significant donations in kind, for the benefit of the presidential initiative 'Faso Mêbo'. This gesture aims to support the urban transformation initiative championed by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore.According to Burkina Information Agency, on January 24th, the Place de la Nation in Koudougou resonated with an unprecedented patriotic mobilization. Less than two months after this provincial conference, the promises made have borne concrete fruit. A delegation from the organizing committee, led by its president Christophe Birba and accompanied by traditional authorities, visited the "Faso Mêbo" site to translate these words into action.The chairman of the organizing committee, Christophe Birba, emphasized that this initiative is first and foremost an act of gratitude. "We came to thank the leaders of Faso Mebo. During our conference, their presentations allowed the people to better understand the vision of His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traore," he stated. Out of a total of 16 million FCFA in cash pledges recorded during the conference, the committee mobilized and handed over an envelope of 11,828,000 FCFA.In addition to this, there were substantial in-kind contributions: 600 tons of granite and 40 tons of cement. Mr. Birba specified that this handover constitutes a "first step." The remaining 5 million FCFA will be addressed in a second phase, a deliberate strategy to maintain momentum. "Contributions did not stop on January 24. We call on all those who are still hesitating to follow suit, because we want the next handover to far exceed the initial forecasts," he said, praising in passing the effort of the market women who collected more than 400,000 FCFA through small donations.The presence of traditional authorities alongside the committee did not go unnoticed. For the organizers, their blessing is the essential foundation for further galvanizing the sons and daughters of the province around the People's Progressive Revolution. Moreover, Naaba Baongho of Dapoya, who spoke on behalf of the chief of the canton of Lalle, expressed his thanks and blessings to both the Forces vives and the actors of Faso Mebo for the mobilization and selflessness.Upon receiving the donation, the deputy regional coordinator of Faso Mebo Nando, Captain Boubacar Compaore, expressed his satisfaction with this outpouring of local solidarity. "This substantial donation will allow us to continue working around the clock on the construction sites. It will further boost the momentum already generated by the sons and daughters of the region," he rejoiced, while conveying the gratitude of the highest authorities in the country to the donors.As a reminder, the 'Faso Mebo' initiative is part of a desire for endogenous transformation of Burkinabe cities, relying primarily on the reso urces and ingenuity of local populations.
