Gourcy:Zondoma: The public transport company SOTRACO has officially launched a new bus line connecting Ouahigouya and Gourcy, providing a new travel option for the local population.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening of the Ouahigouya-Gourcy line was warmly received by the people and community leaders of Zondoma province during the event in Gourcy. The inauguration, held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, was attended by the High Commissioner and Gatan Alexis Wendpanga Oudraogo, Minister-Advisor to the President of Burkina Faso.

The High Commissioner encouraged residents to utilize the bus service frequently and maintain it well, emphasizing its value to the community. The new bus line is expected to enhance mobility, especially benefiting students by reducing the necessity to reside in Ouahigouya.

The service includes four daily departures between Gourcy and Ouahigouya, with stops in Bougounam and several other villages along the route. The fare for regular passengers is set at 900 CFA francs for the entire route and 500 CFA francs for the segment between Ouahigouya and Bougounam.
