Sourgou Celebrates Top Performers of 2024-2025 School Year

Sourgou: The municipality of Sourgou, in collaboration with its vital forces, celebrated the Day of School Excellence in primary schools A and C, AIB observed on site. Placed under the patronage of the High Commissioner of Boulkiemde, Ms. Salimata Ouedraogo, the ceremony was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Inoussa Ouedraogo, focusing on the theme: "academic excellence, a factor of civic engagement and development at the time of the progressive and popular revolution".

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony brought together the sons and daughters of the locality, as well as traditional, religious, and administrative authorities. The master of ceremonies praised the initiative and the strong turnout, stating that "this ceremony is an opportunity to strengthen unity around shared values such as peace, resilience, and excellence. It aims to recognize those who have distinguished themselves through their hard work during the 2024-2025 school year," she indicated.

The PDS of Sourgou, Inoussa Ouedraogo, emphasized the importance of promoting education, stating that "we live in a world where we must work to transform children into good citizens of tomorrow. Education being the foundation, we initiated this ceremony to reward the best students."

The headmaster of Sourgou Primary School C, Ismael Kabore, also expressed his satisfaction and said that "when we talk about excellence, we are talking about a culture of effort and good results to encourage students and teachers."

In total, 138 students from CP1 to CM1 received school supplies (bags, notebooks, and pens). The top-performing students in the exam classes, eight in total (CEPE 4, BEPC 2, BAC 2), were recognized for their achievements. Letters of appreciation were also awarded to the teachers.

The ceremony ended with an official presentation of awards to the most deserving students, to the applause of parents and the entire educational community.
