Sourgou: Educational Community Cultivates Patriotism at Centre A School

Sourgou: The Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Sourgou, Ms. Kabouga Nagnon/Nion, presided over a flag-raising ceremony on Thursday, April 2, at the Centre A school in Sourgou. This activity was part of the National Day of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation (JEPPC), where the national flag was raised in the school's courtyard to promote patriotic ideals.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony saw the participation of teaching staff, students, administrative officials, and local leaders who gathered to show support for the patriotism promoted by the country's leaders. Ms. Nagnon emphasized that the event aligns with the vision of the Head of State and highlighted the JEPPC's theme, "Let's produce Burkinab¨, let's consume Burkinab¨: our plate, our pride," which focuses on returning to roots and achieving food sovereignty.

Ms. Nagnon stressed the importance of imparting this message to children, who represent the future of Burkina Faso, to prepare them for future challenges. Beyond the flag-raising, the CCEB noted that patriotic education continues in classrooms through sessions on national symbols and indigenous values. Ms. Nagnon expressed satisfaction in seeing students wearing traditional Faso Dan Fani attire, reflecting the implementation of educational reforms and government decisions.

Addressing students and teachers, Ms. Nagnon highlighted the significance of local consumption for development. She argued that consuming locally produced goods is crucial for improving product quality and encouraged teachers to sustain this educational initiative to create citizens who are proud of their identity.
