Sourou: Student Cynthia Yeri Djamila Kambou, in Terminale D at the provincial high school of Tougan, distinguished herself by obtaining an average of 16.89/20 at the end of the first term of the 2025-2026 year. With this performance, she occupies first place provincially in her series.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training (DPESFPT) of Sourou held its second Management Council meeting on February 10, 2026. This meeting was primarily dedicated to reviewing the first-term results. During the discussions, it was highlighted that Cynthia Yeri Djamila Kambou achieved the highest average in her final year of high school, placing her at the top of the province.

Cynthia attributes her success to hard work. "There's no secret. It's just hard work. After class, I review my lessons thoroughly as soon as I get home. I look for exercises related to the lesson and work on them without waiting for the teacher to assign them," she explained.

Her English teacher, Constantin Some, praised Cynthia for her performance, noting that she excels in English despite being in the science stream. "Although she is in the science stream, she gets very good grades in English, while many students in this stream do not particularly enjoy this subject. She is truly an exemplary student," he stated.

The school's senior education advisor, Issouf Yameogo, also commended Cynthia's disciplinary qualities. "It's not surprising. Since the second year of high school, Cynthia has never had any problems, neither with a teacher, nor with the administrative staff, nor with her classmates. She is always focused on her work," he remarked, encouraging other students to follow Cynthia's example and begin revising well in advance of exams.
