Sourou Education Director Praises Resilience Amid Security Improvements

Sourou: The provincial director of Secondary Education in Sourou, Inspector Joseph Karambiri, praised the resilience of all stakeholders in the schools of his department on Tuesday, November 2, 2025, during the first management council meeting. The Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training (DPESFPT) of Sourou held its first Management Council meeting on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, chaired by the head of the department, Inspector Joseph Karambiri.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Inspector Karambiri welcomed the reopening of some schools in his department, attributing it to the improved security situation. He commended the resilience of all stakeholders and encouraged them to persevere. He emphasized the importance of focusing on achieving good academic results, expressing hope that the improvements would continue to allow minds to be at ease.

During the meeting, which aimed to enhance the management of educational structures, several key issues were addressed. These included the establishment of school councils, a review of the start of the 2025-2026 school year, and the introduction to professions and multipurpose establishments. The practical organization of a harmonized composition was also discussed.

For the 2025-2026 school year, several secondary schools that had been relocated to the town of Tougan due to insecurity, such as Lankoe and Kassan high schools and the CEG of Nassan, have returned to their original locations. This move underlines the positive changes in the security situation.
