Sourou Provincial Secretary General Emphasizes Individual Responsibility at Flag-Raising Ceremony

Sourou: The Secretary General of the Sourou province, Wendyam Martial Ouedraogo, underscored the importance of individual responsibility during the monthly rotating flag-raising ceremony held on Tuesday, May 6, 2026. The event took place at the Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training in Sourou, attended by key figures, defense and security forces, and members of various social groups.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Secretary General, representing High Commissioner Desire Badolo, urged citizens to embrace personal accountability. He highlighted the need for heightened vigilance and greater responsibility in light of current events, emphasizing that peace begins with individual actions. Ouedraogo commended the efforts of the security forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland and celebrated the achievements of the 3rd edition of the Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation. He also praised the region's representatives for their performance at the National Culture Week.

Furthermore, Ouedraogo called on educational stakeholders to work together for the success of upcoming school exams. He encouraged the populace to embrace the manifesto of the Popular Progressive Revolution, which serves as a guiding framework for the ongoing Revolution.

Joseph Karambiri, the provincial director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and thanked authorities and participants for selecting his department to host the flag-raising ceremony.
