Special Municipal Delegation of Gaoua Holds First Extraordinary Session of 2025


Gaoua: The special delegation of the urban commune of Gaoua, under the presidency of Siaka Ouattara, held its very first extraordinary session of the year on Saturday, January 18, 2025. The meeting took place in the meeting room of the Youth Listening and Dialogue Center, where members of the special delegation focused on key agenda points.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the session primarily dealt with the reading, amendment, and adoption of the minutes from the fourth ordinary public session of 2024, which occurred on November 11 and 12, 2024. Additionally, the delegation examined and adopted the Integrated Communal Development Project for REDD+ (PDIC/REDD+) for Gaoua, along with the draft resolution endorsing the PDIC/REDD+.



Siaka Ouattara, the president of the special delegation, stated that the commune was selected in the second wave of 30 communes to receive benefits from the Sustainable Management of Communal Landscapes Project for REDD+. The project, designed to be participatory and inclusive, received both technical and financial backing for its development. With an allocated budget of 300 million CFA francs and an additional 100 million, the project aims to enhance communal landscapes sustainably.



The session concluded with all 18 statutory members unanimously adopting the various deliberations.
