Special Regional Delegation Plans Over Seven Billion FCFA for Northern Development

Ouagadougou: Members of the Northern Regional Special Delegation convened in an extraordinary session to examine and adopt the 3rd Regional Development Plan (PRD) for the North, covering the years 2025-2029. The meeting, presided over by Thomas Yampa, aimed to address pressing regional challenges including security, social cohesion, and transparent governance.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session took place at the institution's headquarters, where President Yampa emphasized the necessity for a clear roadmap to foster development in the region. The PRD aims to offer regional authorities and stakeholders a practical instrument that consolidates development objectives and outlines coherent actions over the next five years, considering available resources and regional constraints.

The PRD 2025-2029, crafted with the expertise of Nonswaoga Conseils Services Prestations and in collaboration with the ad hoc committee of the Regional Council, is valued at 7,002,218,000 FCFA. This strategic document includes detailed objectives, priority areas, expected outcomes, and mechanisms for implementation and evaluation.

The Special Delegation members unanimously approved the PRD's implementation. Acknowledging resource mobilization as a significant challenge, President Yampa called upon regional stakeholders to actively participate in securing the necessary funding. He expressed gratitude towards UNICEF and the Citizenship Laboratory for their financial contributions to the plan's development.

Additionally, the Rural Development Training Association (AFDR), led by Executive Director Hamidou Ouattara, presented its 2025-2029 investment program. This program, aimed at supporting the PRD, encompasses sectors such as education, food security, and environmental protection, with a total budget of 7,996,640,668 FCFA. The proposal was welcomed by delegation members as a beneficial collaboration opportunity.
