Koupela: Teachers from the Dokuy CEB (Basic Education Center) gathered at a general assembly led by Anselme Taro, the Head of the Dokuy Basic Education District (CCEB), to discuss the implementation of educational reforms initiated by the Ministry of Education. Anselme Taro commended the teachers for their dedication and commitment despite facing challenges. He also invited attendees to sing the national anthem to symbolize unity and belonging to the Burkinabe nation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Inspector Itiomou Traore presented the key educational innovations currently underway. He urged school principals to embrace reforms such as wearing Faso Dan Fani, creating school gardens, introducing English from the second grade (CE1), and increasing the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Inspector Bahiny Traore, the head of supervision, announced upcoming professional development days in the two Educational Supervision Zones (ZEP) of the CEB.
Roland Nongamanegre Djiguemde, the head of personnel at the provincial directorate, addressed administrative matters and the situation of teaching staff. Participants raised concerns including the lack of water points for school gardens and delays in the payment of allowances. Officials provided clarifications that were deemed satisfactory by the attendees.
CCEB Taro encouraged principals to demonstrate leadership and mobilize parents for a better understanding and adoption of the reforms. Principals Fabrice Baye of Bonikuy and Bruno Sanou of Kamadena schools welcomed the initiative, which allowed them to better understand and embrace the ongoing innovations.
