Tenkodogo: Traders express their wishes and request a dry port: On the occasion of the traditional New Year's greetings ceremony, the Union of Traders and Related Businesses of Tenkodogo (UCAT) was received by His Majesty Naaba Guiguempol©, Dima of Zoungrantenga and King of Tenkodogo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the business representatives took this opportunity to present several grievances aimed at enhancing economic activities in the Nakamb© region. Leading the delegation, El Hadj Kabiro Sana, the president of UCAT, offered wishes for peace, health, and longevity to the sovereign, alongside aspirations for stability and prosperity for the kingdom and the Burkinab¨ people.
The traders expressed their gratitude for His Majesty's ongoing support, lauding his efforts in maintaining social harmony and community spirit. They reiterated their dedication to the customary authority, viewing it as a foundation for local development.
The primary request from the Union of Traders and Related Businesses of Tenkodogo was the establishment of a dry port in the city. Union officials believe this infrastructure would ease truck parking issues and optimize Tenkodogo's strategic location near the border. Additionally, they called for fewer customs checkpoints in the Nakamb© region to facilitate trade.
His Majesty Naaba Guiguempol© praised the traders' initiative and unity, acknowledging that he had already discussed some concerns with authorities, such as the construction of the Tenkodogo market and a velodrome.
