Ouagadougou: The Burkina Faso Armed Forces Textile Industrial Complex (TEXFORCES-BF), inaugurated near Bobo-Dioulasso, has set ambitious targets to transform the textile industry in the region. The facility aims to process up to 50,000 tons of cotton annually, with plans to increase weaving to 100 million meters per year and manufacture over 20 million pieces, targeting national, sub-regional, and international markets.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Brigadier General Isma«l Kiswendsida Souampa Diaouari, Chairman of the Board of Directors, outlined the ambitious production goals during his speech at the inauguration. The complex aims to reach 20 million meters of fabric in weaving, produce 5 to 6 million units in knitting, and achieve 20 million meters in dyeing finishing annually. Additionally, it plans to manufacture 4 to 6 million outfits, 5.9 million t-shirts, and over one million pairs of socks each year.

General Diaouari highlighted that approximately 1,300 workers were involved in the construction and equipment installation, and several hundred young Burkinabe have already received training in industrial trades. The complex's expansion is expected to create approximately 20,000 direct jobs and support over 60,000 jobs in related sectors such as cotton, textile, logistics, trade, and services.

TEXFORCES-BF leverages the expertise of young textile engineers trained at the Polytechnic School of Ouagadougou and other institutions across Burkina Faso. General Diaouari emphasized their qualifications and noted that the workforce includes widows and orphans of fallen heroes, who have undergone patriotic immersion as part of the state structure's initiatives.

Comrade Diaouari explained that the initiative reflects the vision of the President of Burkina Faso and the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP), with the workforce symbolizing the country's commitment to industrial growth and development.
