Ouagadougou: The second edition of the Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) was officially launched this Thursday in Djibo, on the premises of the high commission, in the presence of administrative authorities, civil society, and highly mobilized populations.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner of the Soum province, Wend Nere Wilfried TOUGMA, initiated the ceremony by delivering a message from His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traor©, President of Faso, Head of State. The message emphasized the importance of an unwavering patriotic commitment among the population. It urged citizens to make patriotism a core value in their behavior, likening it to an incurable hereditary condition.
"For us in Soum, patriotism must be like an incurable hereditary disease: you are born with it, you live with it and you die with it. Answering the call of the Fatherland is not an option, it is our very identity," declared the High Commissioner.
In this edition, several activities are scheduled in the coming days, under the supervision of the prison security inspector, Ali SAWADOGO. These include a public conference on the values of citizenship on April 2nd, a major cleanup day on April 4th to improve the living environment, and a celebration of cultural identity through the wearing of traditional attire on April 9th.
The strong turnout at the ceremony underscores the support of the people of Soum for the ideals of social cohesion, resilience, and the defense of national sovereignty.
