Sourou: The technical advisor, representing the governor of the Goulmou region, Sekou So, proceeded, this Thursday, February 12, 2026 in Fada N'Gourma, to the official opening of the 3rd edition of the alternative universities for young people, initiated by the Gathering of Intelligences for the Sovereignty of Africa (RISA), under the theme of the ideological and political training of citizens for the anchoring and triumph of the progressive and popular Revolution (RPP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the third edition of the Alternative Universities aims to strengthen young people's capacity to address major national and international issues. Dr. Boukary Nebie, Secretary General of the RISA National Coordination, stated that these Alternative Universities are intended to be "a training ground" to support the ongoing revolutionary dynamic in Burkina Faso. He emphasized the importance of having a conscious, ideologically, and politically educated populace for any revolution to succeed.
Dr. Nebie highlighted that all revolutions worldwide have relied on a conscious populace. He stressed the necessity of training opinion leaders capable of defending the national vision without resorting to violence or invective. He outlined four main themes to be explored during the workshops: presidential initiatives, the Presidential Revolutionary Party (RPP) itself, the promotion of national and African heroes, and communication as a strategic tool.
The Secretary General also conveyed RISA's support for the fighting forces engaged in defending the territory's integrity. He urged participants to become revolution spokespeople while adhering to national laws and values. Sekou So, the technical advisor representing the Governor, praised RISA's initiative for creating structured spaces for reflection and debate amid major security, economic, and social challenges. He emphasized that training and mentoring young people are strategic investments for the region's and the country's future.
Mr. So also acknowledged the participation of young people called up for mandatory patriotic immersion and those involved in civic engagement, recognizing their role in community mobilization and strengthening social cohesion. He called on young people to exhibit responsibility, discipline, and commitment, reminding them that debates of ideas must be conducted with respect for the law, tolerance, and living together.
