The Head of State’s Message of Patriotism Explained to Students of Nanoro

Nanoro: The principal of the Nanoro Departmental Polyvalent High School, Adama Djiguemd©, led a session on Tuesday, April 7, to explain the message from the Head of State regarding the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session emphasized food sovereignty and the promotion of local products. The exercise aimed to give concrete meaning to the theme, "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together, let's cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption," as well as to the slogan, "My plate, my pride!" The headmaster structured his intervention around the complete reading of the presidential message, explaining the terms used, and contextualizing the message to suit the socio-cultural and economic realities of the students.

Following this presentation, an open debate allowed learners to ask questions, refining their understanding of current patriotism. Mr. Djiguemd© urged students to embody the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) and emphasized the importance of civic behavior, particularly through consuming local products. He highlighted that prioritizing local food is an act of public health and sovereignty, as local products are free from toxic substances found in some imported goods.

The message resonated with the students. Olivia P. Kafando, a second-year high school student, praised the initiative, stating that the conference clarified the President's message. "We pledge to make good use of it," she affirmed.
