Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of Ziro Province, Saba Zorom, in collaboration with the Provincial Directorate of the National Police, organized a special session on Friday, August 28, 2026, in Sapouy, to issue the Burkinab National Identity Card of the Alliance of Sahel States (CNIB-AES). The operation involved directors and heads of departments as well as the general public.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative is part of the dynamic undertaken by the Burkinabe authorities to enable as many citizens as possible to have the new national identity card, intended to facilitate the mobility of populations within the area of the Confederation of Sahel States (AES).

The High Commissioner, Saba Zorom, emphasized that this initiative is the result of collaborative discussions with the Provincial Directorate of the National Police to bring the service closer to the people. "We decided to schedule this activity to allow all Burkinab, particularly those in Ziro Province, to benefit from this identity card, which will facilitate mobility and integration among the countries of the AES Confederation," stated Mr. Zorom.

He invited directors, heads of departments, and all residents of Sapouy to seize this opportunity to complete the necessary formalities for obtaining their AES National Identity Card (CNIB-AES).

The new card is designed to allow Burkinabe citizens to move more easily within the community area comprised of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, in line with the integration process undertaken by the three countries.

For provincial authorities, this initiative represents an opportunity to raise awareness and support the population in obtaining this identity document, now presented as an important tool for mobility and sub-regional integration.

The High Commissioner has called on the population to mobilize massively in order to benefit from the operation and to facilitate the achievement of the objectives set by the authorities.
