Bam: The president of the Kongoussi High Court, Jean No«l Yam©ogo, invited fourteen Water and Forestry agents from Bam on Friday to make excellence, patriotism, and discipline the pillars of their professional commitment, on the occasion of their swearing-in ceremony organized in the presence of the administrative authorities of Bam.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the fourteen agents, consisting of 13 assistants and one controller, took the oath in accordance with Law No. 063-2015/CNT of September 15, 2015, concerning the status of the Water and Forestry Corps. "I swear to faithfully and loyally perform my duties and to submit to the obligations they entail," said controller Antoine Kabr©, also head of the Sabc© departmental Water and Forestry service.
The assistants, in turn, responded: "I swear it" before the President of the Court, Jean No«l Yam©ogo, after the reading of the prescribed formula. The prosecutor of Faso at the High Court of Kongoussi, Mamadou Mose Forogo, recalled the importance of respecting the oath in the exercise of the functions of Water and Forestry agents, in a context marked by security and environmental challenges.
"The swearing-in now allows the agent to fully exercise his functions with all the protection conferred upon him by law. Thus, when a public agent is the victim of contempt in the regular exercise of his duties, he has the possibility of bringing the matter before the competent courts so that the perpetrator of the acts is held accountable for his actions," he stressed.
Thus, the Court took note of their oath and then sent them back to the exercise of their functions. At the end of the hearing, the fourteen agents pledged to uphold their oath and serve the State with devotion.
For the provincial director of Water and Forests of Bam, Mahamadou Zoungrana, this swearing-in ceremony will allow agents to carry out their missions with greater legitimacy and efficiency in the fight against the illegal exploitation of natural resources and the protection of the environment.
