The ‘Le Tocsin’ Association Complies with New Laws by Renewing Governing Bodies

Burkina faso: The association 'All for the fight of solidarity and integration' (Le TOCSIN) renewed its governing bodies on Saturday with Gnamba Kabor© at their head, thus complying with the new texts in force in Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this renewal aims to ensure the continuity of the organization's activities and to meet new challenges, including the construction of a headquarters, as stated by the newly elected president, Gnamba Kabor©. For several months, the Burkinabe authorities have been inviting associations and civil society organizations to renew their governing bodies and to comply with administrative requirements to ensure better governance and an update of the files of structures recognized by the State.

Several organizations have already been suspended in Burkina Faso for failing to renew their governing bodies. The new president of TOCSIN added that "one of the priorities of the elected board is to submit the necessary documentation to the ministry in charge of territorial administration as soon as possible."

He indicated that he had been chosen to lead the organization's missions and complete the projects initiated by the outgoing board, regretting, however, that the association does not yet have its own headquarters despite its many years of existence. 'The Tocsin will be 30 years old next year,' he recalled, while expressing his gratitude to the General Assembly and calling on members to mobilize for the success of its mission.

For the outgoing president, Dr. Serge Ou©draogo, one of the main achievements of his term remains the resilience of the organization, whose activities continued despite a difficult context. He expressed his hope that the new team could "add more ground to the ground" in order to consolidate the association's achievements.

Recognized as a public utility since 2013, TOCSIN, created in 1997, has as its main mission to defend the rights of migrants and promote the integration of Burkinabe in the diaspora.
