Banwa: The president of the special delegation of the commune of Tougo, Boureima Souley, officially launched the third edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) on Thursday, March 26, 2026. The event commenced with a national flag-raising ceremony at the Tougo town hall, setting the stage for a series of activities under the theme: "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together, let's cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption," accompanied by the slogan "My plate, my pride!"
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony featured a message from the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, who called upon Burkinab¨ citizens to prioritize the production, processing, and consumption of local products. He stated this was "the only path to our true independence," and emphasized the importance of making the purchase of local goods a routine practice in both households and government offices. This, he argued, would support the national economy and bolster the country's sovereignty.
The commune of Tougo has organized several activities as part of the JEPPC, including wearing traditional clothing, cleaning health centers, organizing a sanitation day at the Tougo market, and hosting a meeting with school children to discuss the meaning of patriotism. These activities for the third edition of the JEPPC are scheduled to run from March 26 to April 9, 2026, encompassing the entire national territory.
