Ouagadougou: The President of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno received, on the afternoon of Friday, May 24, 2024, the Prime Minister of Niger, Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine.
According to the communications unit of the Chadian presidency, the Nigerien Prime Minister is carrying a verbal message from General Abdourahamane Tiani, President of the National Council for the Protection of the Fatherland (CNSP), Head of State of Niger.
This verbal message underlines the importance of fraternal and historical ties between Chad and Niger.
This meeting was an opportunity for the two personalities to revisit bilateral cooperation and to discuss several issues of common interest, particularly sub-regionally.
The Chadian Head of State and his host reiterated their commitment to strengthening relations between their two countries, with particular emphasis on security, economic development and stability in the sub-region.
Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine congratulated the Head of State on his brilliant election to the supreme office
of his country. He also praised the efforts made by Chad for peace and security in the sub-region.
In return, President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno expressed his gratitude for Niger’s constant support and reassured of his desire to continue fruitful cooperation with Niger and the countries of the sub-region.
Niger and Chad are part of a constant dynamic of rapprochement and solidarity, with a view to facing common challenges by working together for a prosperous and secure future for their respective peoples.
