Ganzourgou: The Zorgho municipal delegation organized a day of recognition on Thursday, May 14, 2026, for local development stakeholders who contributed to infrastructure projects and social initiatives in the municipality. During the ceremony, approximately one hundred people received certificates of recognition.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was chaired by the High Commissioner of the province of Ganzourgou, Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, and was held under the patronage of the Minister Special Advisor to the President of Faso in charge of good governance issues, Ragnang-newende Isidore Tiemtore, with co-sponsorship from notable figures including Luc Noudia Kabore, Dr. Karim Kafando, and Omer Kabore.
The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of Zorgho, Valentin Badolo, emphasized the responsibility of local authorities in promoting local development. He highlighted the municipality's achievements in constructing infrastructures like health centers, water and hygiene facilities, and socio-economic structures. Despite these achievements, Badolo acknowledged ongoing development challenges and expressed apologies to those who were not recognized due to incomplete records, ensuring continued recognition efforts.
The summary document presented during the meeting highlighted 140 projects in 40 localities, benefiting 110 stakeholders with a total estimated project value of 1,245,735,000 FCFA. The water sector led with investments of 785 million FCFA, followed by religious, health, and education sectors.
Luc Noudia Kabore, on behalf of the sponsors, praised the municipal initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting development efforts. Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, the High Commissioner, emphasized that recognition is vital for development and motivation, reflecting the municipality's appreciation for each contributor.
Ragnang-newende Isidore Tiemtore remarked on the importance of local participation in development, celebrating the community's collective effort and commitment to the future of Zorgho. During the ceremony, the Secretary General of the Town Hall, Rodrigues Dabire, unveiled the Municipal Development Plan (PCD) 2025-2029, which outlines 121 activities with a budget of 2 billion 699 million 865 thousand FCFA, encouraging stakeholder involvement.
The event concluded with an awareness-raising skit on public health insurance by the Le Baobab theatre company.
