Tougo:The High Commissioner of Zondoma Province, Aboubacar Sidiki Nabe, officially launched the development of a new Municipal Development Plan (MDP) for the commune of Tougo. This strategic document aims to define the new socio-economic directions for the locality.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch event occurred on Thursday, October 28, 2026, at the Tougo town hall's reception hall. It was presided over by High Commissioner Aboubacar Sidiki Nabe and attended by local authorities, technical partners, and key stakeholders.
The initiative follows a preliminary meeting on October 27 with the ad hoc committee responsible for guiding the framework's development. The previous plan, which covered 2019-2023, has expired, necessitating this updated guidance tool to outline a clear vision for local development, prioritize community needs, and plan actions based on available resources.
High Commissioner Nabe highlighted the importance of inclusive participation in the process, stressing the need for alignment with Burkina Faso's national Recovery Plan, and acknowledged the support from the PRO-ARIDES program. Elisabeth Zinsoni, the secretary general of the town hall, emphasized the strategic role of the MDP in partner negotiations. The first vice-president of Tougo's special delegation noted the importance of monitoring and implementation to ensure the plan's success.
With this launch, Tougo is set on a path of strategic planning to address the needs of its citizens sustainably.
