Ouagadougou:The President of the Special Delegation of the commune of Toussiana, Zabsonr/Dabon, conducted a visit to two agricultural sites in Simissian and Kouagnon to evaluate crop conditions and encourage efforts towards food sovereignty.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the inspection on September 15, 2026, included a visit to a family farm in Simissian, located in the village of Keleya. This farm spans over 32 hectares and cultivates various crops. Despite challenges like delayed rainfall and some dry patches, the crops are reportedly showing positive signs. The farm manager, Brahima Barro, expressed satisfaction with the crop progress and is optimistic about achieving good yields.

Following this, the delegation proceeded to Kouagnon to inspect the VDP agricultural collective field, which covers over eight hectares and primarily grows maize, rice, peanuts, and cowpeas. Moussa Coulibaly, leader of the group, acknowledged initial difficulties faced by the 25 agricultural Volunteers for the Development of Agriculture, particularly in transportation and meal provision due to the site's remote location. Nevertheless, the producers are persevering in their tasks with determination.

At the conclusion of the visits, PDS Zabsonr/Dabon praised the dedication of the producers and reiterated the municipality's commitment to supporting agricultural initiatives. She noted the excellent condition of the fields and expressed hope for favorable rainfall to secure good yields.

This visit enabled municipal authorities to better understand the challenges faced by local producers and reinforced their support for agricultural production in the region.
