Pouni:Sangui/Pouni A two-week training session on the bi-plurilingual approach was conducted for 54 teachers and school principals from the Basic Education District (CEB) of Pouni. The training, held between September 16 and 30, 2026, aimed to enhance the use of national languages in early primary education.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session began on September 16, 2026, at Tita C school. It focused on employing national languages as educational tools at the start of the primary cycle. The first week emphasized transcribing the national languages, particularly Nuni and Moore. Participants were guided in Nuni by trainers Babine Bll, Nebi Ylliasse, Yogo Batia, and Bako Flix, while Kafando Likibliyam, Simpor Issiaka, and Tiemtor Boukary led the instruction in Moor.
The second week concentrated on teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic in national languages, with plans for a gradual transition to French. At the session's conclusion, Bahini Edmon Coulibaly, head of the CEB of Pouni, commended the participants for their engagement and encouraged them to apply the skills gained to boost student learning outcomes.
Coulibaly also acknowledged the trainers' dedication and extended his best wishes for the participants' safe return home.
