Ouagadougou: The Cadet Stallions of Burkina Faso and the Aiglons of Mali have made history by becoming the first African countries to qualify for the U17 World Cup in Qatar 2025. Burkina Faso clinched their spot last Thursday during the U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Group B, while Mali secured their place following a 2-0 victory against the Central African Republic in Group D.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this year's U17 World Cup will feature 48 countries, including 10 from Africa. Already, 24 nations have secured their places in the prestigious tournament. These countries are Germany, England, Austria, Belgium, Burkina Faso, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia, the United States, Fiji, France, Haiti, Honduras, Italy, Mali, Mexico, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Panama, Portugal, Qatar (host country), the Republic of Ireland, the Czech Republic, El Salvador, and Switzerland.
The Cadet World Cup is scheduled to take place from November 5 to 27, 2025, in Qatar, showcasing young talents from around the globe.
