USSU-BF 2026 Regional Final: Stakeholders Prepare for a Successful Event

Ouagadougou: Determined to make the USSU-BF regional final a major and exemplary sporting event, the regional director of Sports, Youth and Employment of Kadiogo, Mr. Bªbª Arnaud NOUFE, led a preparatory meeting on Tuesday marked by precise guidelines, the establishment of commissions and a call for the total commitment of the actors involved.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in preparation for the regional final of the Union of School and University Sports of Burkina Faso (USSU-BF), 2025-2026 season, in U17 boys and girls basketball, the regional director of Sports, Youth and Employment of Kadiogo, Mr. Bªbª Arnaud NOUFE, chaired, this Tuesday May 12, 2026, in Ouagadougou, a preparatory meeting dedicated to the organization of the competition. He was accompanied by the provincial director of Sports and Recreation of Kadiogo, Mr. Germain SAWADOGO, as well as the provincial director of Youth and Employment of Kadiogo, Mr. NAMOUTOUGOU Isma«l Beno®t.

The meeting brought together staff from the regional directorate as well as those from the relevant provincial directorates to finalize the organizational details of this major regional sporting event. The discussions focused primarily on the progress of preparations, the coordination of actions to be taken, and the establishment of the organizing committee responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the event.

Following these meetings, several technical committees were formed to guarantee efficient and successful organization. These include the transport and equipment committee, the secretariat and theme committee, the refreshments committee, the technical and mobilization committee, the reception and setup committee, the health and safety committee, and the finance committee.

Scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2026, starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Ouagadougou Youth and Culture Center (MJCO), the USSU-BF regional final will pit the best U17 boys' and girls' school basketball teams from the region against each other. On this occasion, the regional director, Mr. Bªbª Arnaud NOUFE, urged all staff to be fully committed to ensuring the success of this competition for the benefit of Burkina Faso's next generation of athletes and sports enthusiasts.

In other business, the regional head of Sports, Youth and Employment also informed participants of the official launch of the Driving Licence Operation (OPC), for which applications are scheduled to be received from May 18 to 28, 2026. He also discussed the prospects for improving the organization of the next USSU-BF regional finals. The regional director finally invited the sporting public to mobilize massively to accompany and support Burkinabe youth athletes on the occasion of this great celebration of school basketball.
