Yamoussoukro: The Junior Stallions of Burkina Faso are in Yamoussoukro for the development tournament initiated by the WAFU-B, and say they are ready to take up the challenge.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Junior Stallions arrived in the early morning of September 14th and trained that evening at the annex of the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro. Coach Zakaria Zªba immediately focused on recovery, defensive solidity, and offensive efficiency.
During this session, the girls worked on defensive block patterns, particularly around the back three. The session concluded with specific finishing drills, with a particular emphasis on efficiency in front of goal.
A light training session was held this Tuesday morning, continuing the momentum from the previous one. The coaching staff intends to maintain the players' attacking focus while ensuring they retain their physical freshness before today's important match against Ghana's Black Queens at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium at 6 p.m.
As part of its policy to develop women's football, the WAFU-B has established a specific provision for this competition: all twenty players on each team must participate in every match. Participating teams are therefore allowed to make as many substitutions as necessary.
In a pre-match press conference, coach Zakaria Zªba and captain Soulgani Charifatou stated that the team is ready to face and meet the challenge against any opponent.
