Samendeni: The winners of the second edition of the photography and video competitions highlighting the tourist sites and attractions of Burkina Faso were honored during a ceremony in Samendeni. The event, marking the launch of the fourth edition of the Great Domestic Tourism Season, was organized by the Faso Tourism Agency to showcase the cultural and tourism assets of Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the jury spokesperson, Oumar Coulibaly, expressed appreciation for the candidates' enthusiasm and the quality of submitted works. He noted that the submissions were evaluated based on technical quality, originality, creativity, message relevance, and aesthetic value.
In the promotional video category, the jury decided not to award a first prize, citing that none of the entries achieved the level of excellence required. However, Serge Theophile Bance received the second prize, valued at 750,000 FCFA, for his video "€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬¦¡¬¦¡¬ la decouverte du Faso," while the third prize of 500,000 FCFA went to Mohamed Sanou for "Come see Burkina Faso."
In the photography category, Frederic P. Yameogo of L'Observateur Paalga claimed the first prize, worth 1,000,000 FCFA, with his photograph "The power of Koudougou (Forge)." The second prize of 500,000 FCFA was awarded to Eric Ouedraogo for "Sitarail, Bobo-Dioulasso station," and the third prize of 250,000 FCFA went to Issa Compaore of Editions Sidwaya for "Boulevard Thomas-Sankara."
The chairman of the jury congratulated all the winners and participants, highlighting their contributions to promoting Burkina Faso's tourism heritage. He encouraged participants to continue their efforts to elevate the quality of future submissions.
