Women in Djoro Mobilize for Faso Mªbo Activities in Gaoua

Gaoua: Women from the Djoro region mobilized at the Faso Mªbo site in Gaoua on International Women's Day to participate in paving work and contribute aggregates to support the activities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the governor of the Djoro region, Siaka Barro, stated that this initiative aligns with the objectives set by the country's highest authorities, who advocate for a more productive celebration of March 8. He commended the women's commitment and reiterated the regional authorities' support for initiatives aimed at improving living conditions and enhancing women's roles in decision-making processes.

Madeleine Da, the regional coordinator for women in Djoro, highlighted that the mobilization signifies the women's dedication to regional development. She expressed gratitude to those who supported the initiative and noted that the women contributed over five tons of cement and raised 42,000 FCFA to aid the volunteers on site.

Ms. Da encouraged sustained solidarity and commitment beyond the March 8th celebrations, urging continued participation in regional development initiatives and the promotion of peace and social cohesion. Lamoussahan Ouedraogo/Souali, the regional director of Family and Solidarity of Djoro, emphasized the women's choice of the Faso Mªbo site as a demonstration of their commitment to social transformation in the country.

The day's activities concluded with a shared meal, during which organizers reaffirmed their dedication to peace, development, and enhanced participation of women in national affairs.
