Goulouré:Ouagadougou In the fields, sewing workshops, and food processing units, women in the Nando region face the harsh realities of life every day to provide for their families. They demonstrate courage and resilience to keep their businesses going, sometimes in particularly difficult conditions.
According to Burkina Information Agency, in Goulouré, in the Boulkiemdé province, Rosalie Sama bears the marks of a demanding daily life. Her sole concern is finding enough to feed her family and offer a better future to her children, a quest shared by the other members of her cooperative. She is the president of the management committee of the Wend Raabo simplified cooperative society of cowpea producers in Goulouré, which brings together nearly four hundred members. Together, they practice agriculture and livestock farming, and produce hay.
The cooperative started eight years ago with small contributions from members to support their children's education. Over time, their organization gained recognition, and a two-hectare plot was allocated to them for agriculture. However, challenges such as the lack of fencing and water supply persist, affecting their ability to diversify crops and ease daily life.
Meanwhile, in Kokologho, the women's association Songtaaba has faced setbacks due to equipment failures and financial difficulties, despite their historical success in producing shea butter and other products. They now appeal for external support to revive their activities.
In Réo, Bienvenue Bassolé Kanzié empowers young women through vocational training at the Yi Wo Kando center. The center, which has trained over two hundred girls since its inception in 2019, offers courses in garment making, weaving, and manufacturing processed products. Despite the support received, the center faces challenges due to inadequate accommodation for students from distant areas.
In Koudougou, Rakieta Ramdé's entrepreneurial journey began with a small loan, leading her to establish a thriving business in food processing. Her success has enabled her to support her family and community, highlighting the impact of perseverance and innovation.
